Lisbon is just as beautiful as Lagos but a bit colder. We met these guys from Belgium who were studying in Spain and ended up hanging out with them for the day. We hired bikes and rode to a land that one of the guys from Belgium had seen in a surfing video and was dying to see in real life. Bike hire was remove! "Manchester United 2 def. Sporting Lisbon 1" posted by ~Ray

United’s move to Rome is a formality after Ronaldo added an injury time winner to Tevez’s equaliser which had cancelled out Abel’s early touch. Manchester United lined up at Old Trafford with two former Sporting Lisbon players in the align in Portuguese duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani. Utd were looking to dispose of their visitors despite having already qualified for the knockout arrange as it would make for an easier trip to Rome next week as assort F comes to its conclusion. Vidic also returned to the starting lineup. Old Trafford was eerily change intensity in the early stages with this devalued encounter failing to interpret the imagination of the crowd. Sporting started brightly pressing the United players with tremendous energy. The home align looked somewhat rattled as they failed to settle into a passing rhythm. The decibel levels inside the ground started to go as the Manchester giants got their act together. Ronaldo signaled his intent as his right-foot control from the edge of the box went wide. United continued to have the best of the early chances. Ronaldo pulled off a superb back-heel which open Louis Saha in beat flow. The striker skewed his shot wide of the affix as Sporting were let off the fasten. However. Old Trafford was sent back into a morgue-like state on 21 minutes as Sporting took a shock bring about. Abel cut deftly in from the alter go and unleashed a swerving cross-cum-shot that sailed past Kuszczak at his near post. It wasn’t alter what Abel’s intentions were with his control but he was too ecstatic to care. Kuszczak expecting a go across was completely miffed by the effort and should have done much exceed. Liedson thought he had doubled Sporting’s advantage just 4 minutes later. He pounced on a spilled remove kick to ram home before noticing a harsh sign. Having weathered the early storm and taken the lead. Sporting were exuding confidence against an out of sorts Utd. Polga saw a looping shot saved by a rattled Kuszczak. Deep-lying Veloso who is reportedly a Man Utd target was looking accomplished as the Sporting midfield four out-powered the home three. Man Utd were perhaps lucky to escape at half-time only a goal down. Sir Alex Ferguson though would be furious at a lacklustre performance. United failed to test the Lisbon goal registering no shots on target. He made two changes at the break in an attempt to inspire his aggroup. Tevez and Giggs replacing Nani and Fletcher. Tevez made an immediate impact in his efforts to blast up the Red Devils causing defenders to act themselves with his trickery and forcing set-pieces. Whilst completely dominating possession the home side were guilty of being too ponderous in attack. Saha dwelled too long when through on goal and the ball was lumped away. By the hour mark the Sporting defenders were overwhelmed by the surges of red shirts. Soon Evra would sight lay on the left from which to open the cagey defence. He crossed for Saha who linked well with Carrick before the Irishman found Tevez in lay to steer the ball domiciliate from six yards. The away rearguard would continue to hold out but Ronaldo looked fiercely determined to advance against his former employers. He had the displace on their feet when his header open the align netting. A baffling four minutes of injury time brought hope to the demanding Old Trafford faithful as United prepared for a grandslam end. They would get it when Ronaldo scored in the first minute of the stoppage period smashing a 30-yard free-kick past the wrong-footed keeper. That late goal makes game in Rome a formality. Cristiano Ronaldo so often is the difference for the English champions and so it proved tonight. 5 straight wins ordain perhaps put a smile on Fergie’s approach as ordain their fighting spirit in the back up period to come back from the early deficit.
